Resources
The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation supports VCU’s research enterprise through all steps of the process, from project development to commercialization and licensure.
We also support a large number of institutes, centers and core laboratories that promote interdisciplinary collaboration and ensure investigators and researchers have the assets needed to advance their groundbreaking research.
You'll find these resources, along with a number of training opportunities and helpful guides, throughout our website.
Research development
Our research development team offers one-on-one consultation, small group meetings and group training sessions throughout the grant life cycle. Support services include:
- Project development: We assist with project design, liaise with funding agencies and provide grant writing training throughout the year.
- Funding opportunity searches: We identify and disseminate funding opportunities and match opportunities with investigators.
- Team-building: We identify and maintain a list of collaboration tools, and can help connect you with internal and external collaborators.
- Proposal development: We assist with guideline interpretation, proposal planning and building competitive budgets. We also provide data on the university research enterprise and funding portfolio, draft language, edit proposal drafts, and assist with proposal submission.
To request any of these services, contact Melissa Throckmorton at throckmortms@vcu.edu. Make sure to include a lay-language description of your project idea, potential partners/collaborators, potential sponsors and any other relevant information.
